Thank you for sharing. I am a recent first generation grad with a passion to democratise knowledge for Africans who cannot afford it. The increasing population of youth in Africa requires a proactive preparation ahead of the future we want, which is the goal of the the continental organisation, the African Union. I conducted my undergraduate long essay on the topic; The Challenges Affecting the African Union 2002 -- 2022 and it exposed me to the need for more specialised knowledge rather than generalised knowledge with old curriculum. I am an author of two books.

Hey Angela, on that basis, I’ve been struggling with the GMAT for 6 months (stuck at 595). I just took the GRE out of the blue with no prep today and scored a 321 (Q164 V157). 3 months to go to R1, do you think GRE is the way to go here? I only wish I saw this video earlier 😢

Could you please inform the specific title of the video you mention on 10:08 minute of this episode. You mentioned: "... personal statement as you're applying to business school is a very different thing, and it may or may not be the right decision for you based on your background, based on the schools you're applying to, and based on the prospects for recruitment afterwards. We have other videos that cover this topic."

I really value your channel and content. I will religiously continue to watch your content. Clearly your target audience are the best and brightest that are seeking to get in the best 5-6 B schools. I would love to see you drop a video on B schools in the lower ranks and educate me/us about those specific schools. Benefits/concerns/strengths. Also discuss the Augment Program.

Hi Angela, any thoughts on the MBA program at UIC? I got my undergrad from there and the university seems to be highly respected but they are unranked for their business school.

It used to not matter, but now it does in Canada. There’s been a surge of “anomalous” diploma mills, and international students abusing the “student pathway” for immigration purposes. These particular diploma mills, have sub par requirements, and questionable practices. So the brand of your MBA, now matters. You don’t want to get from these so called, “diploma mills”

I'd love your input on the situation.. - I am about 4 years into my career. - Been at a director level for two years now - Have learned some here / there this past year but things seem pretty flat line - At a company where even if I advance and get a promotion.. not too much will change since I'm at the top of my marketing food chain - Thinking of going for an MBA to vy for an executive level position and have some impact on the larger business as a whole, or get a different job at a larger company with the ability to do that. Obviously, it's tough to give specific input but I'd love yours. Thanks!

Do you honestly think that ia will leave us , mba proffesionals without a job as more and more tasks automatize and are influenced by the use of it?

Hello Angela ! I am a French law student who fell into a depression by the end of high school and it lasted a few years so my experience in college was as messy as it gets (I basically stayed enrolled but would not go to classes or exams so I'm 6 years late). I was top of my class before that but had no extracurriculars, I just took all the classes available in my high school. I also started my post high school education at a top humanities program with an acceptance rate of less than 3% but dropped out very quickly - I know, not great. I am doing better now, got excellent grades this year and I would like to work in consulting in the US - this goal really motivates me because it feels like my personality, interests and the way I approach things wrapped up in a high paying job and an opportunity to transmute the parts of me that could be seen as negative somewhere else into a space where they are actually looked for and cherished. How can I get there as quickly as possible and make up for the years I spent crying in the dark, if it's even possible ? Thank you !

This is what I needed to hear.... I think most of us approach jobs with a servant mentality, keeping our head low, and trying to scrape for crumbs to just get in. We forget this is a two way deal. We have to remember this also meant to help US grow in the direction we want to go for our career. No wonder most of us continue to flounder. Never heard this kind of advice before. Hi Angela, I'm planning to apply for MBA this year. With the current layoffs going on everywhere, my company might also let go of people and we have been asked to look for alternatives to be safe. At the time of application, if I switch jobs, I'll have only 2-3 months of experience. Do you think I should explore job opportunities or stay put in the current company?
